The Cult Wines Global Index forms a benchmark measurement of the global fine wine market performance.

Using Wine-Searcher data, the Index is comprised of a dynamic set of wines that represents the fine wine investment market based on strict liquidity criteria. The Cult Wines Global Index is comprised of the following Regional Indices – Bordeaux, Burgundy, Champagne, Rhone, Italy, USA and Rest of World. Together they make up the Cult Wines Indices, which provide a comprehensive and objective view of the fine wine market.

Cult Wines Regional Indices

The Cult Wines Regional Indices are dynamically weighted each month to accurately reflect the amount of activity on Wine-Searcher. Together, the weighted Cult Wines Regional Indices are combined to make up the nearly 7,000 wines that form the Cult Wines Global Index.

Methodology

The Cult Wines Global Index tracks the prices of the most sought-after, tradeable fine wines in the market. By analysing 200K global prices offers through a partnership with Wine-Searcher, the world's most extensive source of wine pricing data, the Cult Wines Indices provide a fully independent, in-depth view of the global fine wine market.

Using Wine-Searcher data, rather than our own trading information, maintains the integrity of the Cult Wines Indices by using the best possible data while relying on a credible, independent third-party source. The Indices are rebalanced annually based on strict liquidity criteria to ensure they accurately represent the tradeable fine wine market and avoid any arbitrary or biased decisions.
